Overview

Dynamic Cutting & Precision

• Breakthrough waterjet cutting process and the Dynamic Cutting system with Active Tolerance Control produces more accurate parts at significantly higher cutting speeds than parts cut with a conventional waterjet.

• A patented system utilizes a newly-developed advanced motion system that incorporates unique mathematical cutting models, which control a small, articulated wrist that is attached to the cutting head.

• The wrist allows the cutting head to tilt in any direction, compensating for the stream lag and taper experienced with conventional waterjet cutting machines. This virtually eliminates taper; taper is less than 1 degree in straight-line geometry allowing for true part stacking ability with consistent tolerance layer to layer.

• We have Interchangeable pure waterjet and abrasive waterjet cutting head systems with Sapphire, Ruby or Diamond orifices to cut a wide variety of soft or hard materials. The water only cutting head has an exceptionally small KerfA slit made by cutting, especially with a saw., with virtually no water to the area being cut.

• Using precision Computer Numerical Control (CNC), the 4020b directs a thin 60,000 psi stream of water/abrasive through the cutting surface (up to 8” thick) and into a massive 13ft x 6.5ft water tank/table.

Advantages of WaterJet Cutting:

LITTLE HEAT

Waterjet cutting creates very little heat. It is the preferred method for cutting materials that are susceptible to thermal distortion caused by the high temperatures generated by Plasma and other cutting methods.

FASTER CUTS

The Flow 4020b has multiple cutting speeds. Customers can chose the level of economy/cut quality that is right for their particular project. Edge quality can be very good, requiring little or no secondary finish work.

ACCURACY

More accurate cut than plasma. Clean precision cuts with Minimal KerfA slit made by cutting, especially with a saw. width make the waterjet suitable for cutting complex machine parts or other detailed projects with tight tolerances.

MINIMAL TOOLING

Fast set up and minimal tooling make waterjet cutting an economical way to cut 2D shapes in a wide range of materials. Waterjet cutting is especially well suited for low to medium volume runs and prototype work.
